First off, let me state that there is no sure fire way to make money blogging and that doing so does take time. I’m not going to even tell you that you’re going to start a blog one day and the next day, start making a ton of money. Blogging is something you have to work at…DAILY!

In due time, it’s possible to make passive income in just a few months from blogging.
In this post, I’m going to let you in on 5 ways you can make money blogging.
1. AFFILIATE MARKETING
Affiliate marketing is the first thing I learned about when I was searching for ways to monetize my blog. Basically, affiliate marketing is where you position advertisements on your website and when someone clicks on your ad, you make a commission. The good thing is, it doesn’t cost a thing to them and they may receive a percentage off or other perks for purchasing through your link.

Affiliate marketing is a great way to make money online without having to sell goods and do all the necessary accounting, credit card transactions and shipping. In my first month of blogging, I purchased Click Millionaires: Work Less, Live More with an Internet Business You Love. I had been teeter-totting around the idea of purchasing it but I’m so glad I did.
Within a week of purchasing the book, I made my first affiliate sale and by the second month of blogging, I made over $1500 in affiliate income!
I would highly recommend starting out with affiliate marketing to monetize your blog. It’s easy to get started and can be very lucrative over time.
Most bloggers think that the first thing after starting their blog is to bombard their site with ads. The next thing is believing they’re going to see a ton of money rolling in from placing ads everywhere.
Unless you have thousands of page views each month, you are not going to see a high profit from placing ads on your site, more or less be able to pay for a coffee with no cream or sugar.
I have a few ads on my site, but I have chosen to keep it to a minimum of 1-2 ads. This is primarily because I want to keep that space open to showcase my own products that I provide to aspiring bloggers. (More on that later in the post)
Be sure to implement you ads well and really focus on finding out what works for your site.
3. SPONSORED POSTS
Sponsored posts can be a great way to get your blog in front of new audiences and earn money from your blog. These posts are mainly geared around your social media outlets and are primarily focused on engagement.
Before reaching out to brands to suggest sponsorship, you should create a media kit. This is like a resume for your blog. It includes a nice picture of yourself, a little bit about you and your blog and your social media stats and monthly page views.
If you want to work with a sponsorship company or reach out to different brands, here are a few options:
4. SELLING YOUR OWN PRODUCT
In my opinion, this is the best way to make money blogging! There is no limit to what you can do by providing potential buyers with a tool they can use. This can be in the form of digital or physical products.
You can use your blog as a means to gain new customers. If you have a web based business, consider writing blog posts tailored around your products (how-to’s, reviews, suggestive tips, etc) then funnel your readers to your website.

There are a few things you must do before taking the plunge and creating a product to provide to your readers.
- Find out who your target audience is. Who would most benefit from the products you create? Where do they hang out? What problems do they have that you could solve.
- Analyze your product. Does your product solve a problem? Is your product something beneficial to your customers?

If you put in the work and treat your blog like a business you will be able to make money from your blog.

I started implementing affiliate marketing techniques to my blog within the first month and by the second month, I had made over $1500 in affiliate income.
